5 Wellness Products To Try In 2018

I’ve gotten some feedback that you guys want to hear about more of my favorite products, so I thought I’d give you some new things to try to start off the year on a healthy note!!  Whether you have goals of amping up your self care, green beauty products, or clean yummy brands in 2018, I’ve covered all areas!  These products aren’t necessarily that new new, but they are some I am currently loving on!!

 

Everyday Shea Shea Butter

I recently discovered this body butter when I was at Whole Food’s desperately searching for a cure for my lizard skin.  The combination of living in the dessert again and the (kind of) cold temps seriously shriveled my skin right up.  BUT I can say that I’ve finally found the most insanely moisturizing lotion that is also good for the world.  It is 100% Fair Trade, cruelty free, made with high quality ingredients, and all sales fund empowerment projects that support Togolese communities in Africa.  WIN WIN

 

 

Thinksport Sunscreen 

I’ve gone through my fair share of “natural” sunscreens, and this is by far the best one I’ve ever used!  Being a runner, finding a sunscreen that isn’t full of junk and actually stays on when sweating is hard.  Thinksport covers all categories!  Did you know that the products you put on your skin are just as important as what you put in your mouth?? Sadly, so many beauty products contain chemicals that affect your hormones and could even contribute to cancer.  CRAZY.  It may not seem obvious now, but choosing products that are safe is so crucial to your health.  Thinksport sunscreen contains no avobenzone, oxybenzone, UV Chemical absorbers, Parabens, phthalates, PABA, or dioxane.   As a bonus, the face sunscreen is tinted!  I can’t recommend this stuff enough.  

 

 

The Universe Has Your Back card deck

Gabrielle Bernstein is one of my favorite authors and speakers, if you haven’t heard of her I would definitely recommend checking out some of her work!  This book and this one are some of my faves.  She created this deck of affirmations and it’s so amazing!  Not only are the cards super cute, but the message each one has is so uplifting.  Sometimes we need a reminder when faced with challenges or doubt.  Pull one of these cards every morning for some daily inspo and positive light when you need it most. 

 

 

Bitchin Sauce

At first I tried this magic stuff just because the name was so amazing, but it turns out the taste is just as good!! It is literally better than hummus.  With a slight consistency to hummus, but made with almonds instead, this is definitely one of our fridge staples.  Chris and I put it on EVERYTHING.  Eggs, sammies, toast, veggies, all the things.  It can be challenging to find sauces that are actually pretty clean, but Bitchin Sauce is the real deal.  Each flavor varies, but the main ingredients are almonds, water, expeller-pressed grapeseed oil, lemon juice, nutritional yeast, Bragg Liquid Aminos (soy protein), and spices.  What’s really cool is that they actually started off ( and still participate in) at farmers markets in SoCal!  I discovered them as a temporary product at Costco, and although the Whole Foods price I now pay hurts, it is worth every penny.  

 

 

Coconut Cult

I may have saved the best for last.  This stuff is possibly my favorite product discovery of 2018!  It is technically a yogurt, but the real kind, not the sugar laden bad-sourced-dairy kind (Yoplait I’m lookin at you).  It is straight probiotics on a spoon.  Fermented food is so crucial for gut health and balancing the microbiome!  Coconut Cult contains 25 billion probiotics per serving and has a tangy taste similar to Kefir in my opinion.  It is so powerful, it can replace your daily probiotic!  It is also loaded with good fat that can help keep you full and balance blood sugar.  They recommend to eat it in small doses at first to get your stomach used to its power (seriously- it is that intense.  Let’s just say my digestion is immediately on point after eating some), but it will soon become highly addicting!  My favorite way to inhale is on oatmeal or almond butter toast.  YUMMMM
